News
Special Announcement
The position adopted by the Fiqh Council of North America and the European Council of Fatwa and Research about Eidul Adha is that it should be celebrated following the Day of Hajj (Yaum 'Arafah). Thus the final date of Eidul Adha will be determined after the announcement of Hajj by the Hajj authorities in Makkah.
According to the astronomical calculations, the month of Dhul Hijjah will begin on Saturday, November 29, 2008 and the expected date of Eidul Adha is Monday, December 8, 2008. Please check for the final announcement after November 29.
(For details on the Shar'i position of the Fiqh Council on Eidul Adha, see the full article, "Eidul Adha is Connected with Hajj, by Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Shah, www.fiqhcouncil.org)
